A Royal Wedding : Cleveland Style

Updated: May 19, 2018

The Gallery : Nathan Migal of Imagen

The Shoot : WKYC Cleveland and Joe Mineo Creative

When Jasmine Monroe of WKYC Cleveland contacted Joe Mineo Creative about putting together a project based on the premise that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are coming to Cleveland, we jumped at the chance to do it. With some of the very best event professionals in the North East Ohio area we were able to pull this project off with a very short time limit. This post is dedicated to the who, what, where and how of creating a styled photoshoot of this kind. I'll speak for the group and say that any time we as events pros can be part of a fantasy, work with our favorite industry peers, and find some little way to be part of the international obsession with all things Royal Wedding...we go all in. Joe would like to personally extend his thanks to all of you !

The Venue : Tudor Arms Doubletree

Our first call was to the Tudor Arms Downtown Cleveland. http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hotels/ohio/the-tudor-arms-hotel-cleveland-a-doubletree-by-hilton-CLEUCDT/event/index.html

This venue is everything you want for a royal theme. It has incredible architectural detail and provides the perfect setting for the kind of regal feeling we wanted to achieve. We found countless places within the ballrooms and stairwells for really gorgeous photo opportunities.

The Gowns : Matina's Bridal

Julie Rauzan of Matina's Bridal https://www.matinasbridal.com/

and Joe have been working alongside one another in the wedding industry for a number of years. He knew she carried some of the best bridal designers so she was our first call to style the bridal models for our shoot. Julie chose a designer known to be in the front runners as possibly creating Meghan Markle's own gown. Matina's is one of the select few bridal salons to carry the designer. A conservative, possibly palace approved Caroline Castigliano design was worn by our model Isabella, while a more modern and form fitting style was selected to represent what a young non-traditional princess, modeled by Rachel, might choose. Both models wore veils by Toni Federicci.

Julie of Matina's Bridal brought two styles of gown.

The Cake : The Cake Boutique

Do you know Stella? If not you should. She is co-owner of The Cake Boutique http://www.cakeboutiqueshop.com/ and she is a cake maker extraordinaire. Stella

has been a winner on HGTV's Cake Wars and is a little famous but you'd never know it from her easy going nature and willingness to go above and beyond anytime we call. She created a cake that was lemon elderberry flavor just as the royal cake is planned to be. The design however, was all her own. Her creation was meant to compliment the venue and the bridal decor without being overly ornate or complicated. We think she got it just right.

The Photography : Nathan Migal Imagen

Nathan is one of our favorite go to photographers for events in Cleveland. He is high energy and very talented. He always delivers stunning images and he is a blast to work with. What's not to love?

Videography : MiMy Media

https://mimy.media/

Have you ever just met someone and known they were the one? That's how Michael Myers joined our team. He was referred by another event professional whose opinion we hold highly. He signed on and showed up. The video is gorgeous and we can't wait to do more with MiMy in the future.

The Printed Pieces : Luscious Verde

Nancy Greff of Luscious Verde created the invitation and menus to make our table setting complete. We have worked with them many times for every type of invite from Mitzvahs to Weddings. http://lusciousverde.com/

The Furniture and Tableware : Event Source

http://www.eventsource.net/pages/About-Event-Source.html

Event Source's website states that they "provide excellent service and premium quality, well-maintained special event equipment to discriminating customers."

They are true to their word and they are our first choice for event rentals in Cleveland.

The Linens : L'Nique Linen Rental

http://www.lnique.com/

L’Nique Specialty Linen Rental offers an extensive selection of beautiful solid and specialty table linens – including tablecloths, overlays, napkins, charger plates, table runners, placemats, chair covers, sashes & accessories – in a variety of sizes, fabrics, textures and patterns.

The Faces : Model Isabella White and Makeup Artist Karin Dodge

https://www.clevelandmakeupartistry.com/

Cleveland Makeup Artistry takes their work seriously. Owner Karin Dodge is not only talented and beautiful in her own right, she is also a smart business owner. We noticed the details in her presentation on site. For example, she invests in customs kits that she hand selects and designs for every makeup artist working under her name. Her business prides itself on providing beauty services for everyone. She came in to the project to provide makeup specifically for Isabella and you can see that the results were stunning.

MUA Karin Dodge of Cleveland Make Up Artistry beautifies Isabella.

The Faces : Model Rachel Terpak was made up by professional MUA Kelly Miron of The Powder Room,

Kelly believes in the transformative nature of makeup and that beauty comes in all forms, shapes, and sizes – there is no one-size-fits-all approach at her boutique. Rachel looked lovely and Kelly was on hand to offer her touch ups during the shoot.
